Mimi Gianopulos has booked a supporting role in Lionsgate’s motherhood comedy “What to Expect When You’re Expecting,” which will mark her studio pic debut.

Gianopulos will play Molly, Anna Kendrick’s funny roommate who comforts and supports her.

Thesp joins a starry ensemble that includes Cameron Diaz, Jennifer Lopez, Elizabeth Banks, Chris Rock, Dennis Quaid, Matthew Morrison, Chace Crawford, Joe Manganiello, Rodrigo Santoro, Rob Huebel, Brooklyn Decker and Wendi McLendon-Covey.

Kirk Jones is directing from a script by Shauna Cross, based on the book by Heidi Murkoff and Sharon Mazel.

Production is skedded to begin later this summer, and Lionsgate will release the film on May 11, just in time for Mother’s Day.

Gianopulos, who just signed with ICM after graduating from Carnegie Mellon, is the daughter of 20th Century Fox chairman and CEO Jim Gianopulos.
